After the storm, a triple-booked Saturday 24 February 2007

Last night was wild and woolly – our temps in the low 70s for the past week meant that at some point our weather would moderate, and it would take a big storm to do it. We cleaned out the storm shelter, packed bags of blankets, pillows, and flashlights, and slept with one ear open to the wail of the tornado sirens.

We made it through all right – just some lightning, rain, and a lot of wind. Now we get to focus on this day when I’ve got my three favorite activities happening. Two basketball games this morning, a board meeting for the Oklahoma Ornithological Society this afternoon (not that I love board meetings, of course), and a big choral concert tonight.
