I miss Tim Russert 13 June 2008

I’m mourning the loss of Tim Russert today. Unlike so many newsmen, Russert never became a self parody. He was just a really smart, well-grounded guy in whom I placed a lot of trust as a journalist, and I’ll miss him. It’s almost like his death is the kind of shocking story that could really only be grasped and put in perspective by . . . Tim Russert.

I agree. I’ve been experiencing the same thing. I didn’t watch Meet the Press as much as I would like, but I looked forward to coming home and watching Tim on segments in different MSNBC programs.
I feel so much grief. I’ll be honest, I’ve shed several tears throughout these two days. It is hard to explain. I just feel like we lost a true, honest, honorable, great contribution to humanity. It is such a tragedy.
He was America’s Journalist.
Wow – Luke Russert last night rocking the youth vote on campus at Indiana University. His dad sure would’ve been proud.
