Linear radar signal in Kansas – a “bird highway”


The NOAA weather radar image for Topeka, KS showed a fascinating linear signature of bird migration yesterday morning.

Some have speculated that Franklin’s Gull comprised most – if not all – of the individuals making that linear flight. There have been big flights of Franklin’s Gulls here in Stillwater the past few days. To learn more about them, check out this gem from the archives.
