Dr. Steven Novella on what the “bigfoot DNA” most likely is

On his Neurologica blog, Dr. Steven Novella does an excellent job of explaining with clarity what those active bigfoot skeptics have been assuming to be the case for the past couple of years with claims of “bigfoot DNA” having been discovered by veterinarian Dr. Melba Ketchum.  Namely, the “human” mitochondrial DNA in Ketchum’s samples came from humans, and the “unknown” nuclear DNA in those samples came from something else.  That something else is probably also human, but simply not one of the human sequences already cataloged in GENBank.

Of course, it’s impossible to critically evaluate the claims if they never actually appear in print, so interested readers will have to stay tuned!
