Management Board Talks Playas, Fire and Funding

Tutorials Help New Members to ‘Hit the Ground Running’

This year, PLJV’s winter Management Board meeting was hosted by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation in Enid, Oklahoma, from January 14 to 16. In addition to discussing the work of the Joint Venture, the board received an update on the Playa Conservation Initiative; heard a presentation on state and regional prescribed fire councils and burning associations in Oklahoma and Kansas, as well as one about the Bureau of Land Management’s plans for a Rapid Ecological Assessment for the Southern Great Plains; and made funding decisions for the PLJV grant programs.
