Check out this latest news from the American Birding Association.
There are still spots available for the ABA’s rally in San Diego this October.
ABA staff will be joined by Southern California birding legends Jon Dunn and Guy McCaskie among others, as we search for regional endemics and seabirds.
We’ll hit the best spots in this bird-rich area both inland and offshore to get a great variety of birds, and we should be able to have fantastic experiences with most of southern California’s speciality species, including Yellow-footed Gull and “Large-billed” Savannah Sparrow on the Salton Sea extension.
Register for this event here. We want to make this a big event and we’d love to have you join us!

Missing your ABA Bird of the Year Stickers? Let us help!
We know that several ABA members did not receive their anticipated BOY 2013 Common Nighthawk stickers in their January/February 2013 issue of Birding magazine. We’re very sorry for the omission and we’d love to get those stickers out to you as quickly as possible so that you can affix them to your optics, cell phones, field notebooks, or anywhere else you’d like to show your ABA pride.
If you are among the unlucky few who did not receive those stickers, please email Liz Gordon at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll arrange to get them to you! Thanks!
Save the Date for the 2013 Mid-Atlantic Young Birder Conference!
If you’re a young birder, or you know of one who will be within driving distance of Hockessin, Delaware, on September 14th, 2013, please make plans to join us at our upcoming Mid-Atlantic Young Birder Conference at Ashland Nature Center.
The 2012 event was one of the year’s highlights for many of us at the ABA. There’s something very inspirational about being in the presence of so many committed young birders and naturalists. You can check out a gallery of photos here and some thoughts at the ABA Blog here. We’re really looking forward to making this a bigger and better event in its second year.
The ABA is proud to announce that The National Geographic Society will co-sponsor the event, and Jonathan Alderfer, co-author of National Geographic’s Field Guide to Birds of North America, will be a featured speaker, along with 2013 ABA Young Birder of the Year Ioana Seritan.
Online registration begins on June 26th. Please contact Bill Stewart at email@example.com or call 800-850-2473 x 240 for more information.
